Philadelphia Newborn in Home Family Photography Session

This was my first time capturing this brand new family of three (well four, because their golden doodle, Lemon, didn’t want to leave their side!). There is something so fun about meeting new families and celebrating this incredibly sweet and exciting time in their lives.

They had just gotten home from the hospital with baby Alec just a few days before the shoot and they were exhausted but happy. The first few weeks are such a blur and are so easily forgotten because all of your focus is on this new little human in your life that your memories just don’t seem to stick like we want them to. This is way I just love capturing this moment so early in the beginning of this huge life change.

I may not be capturing alllll the dirty diapers, middle of the night feedings, and messy hair, sweatpants and spit up stained shirts, but I am freezing the sweetest part of this period in our lives…their tinyness (is that even a word??) and the love you have for this new little being. This hour that you spend with me is an hour to slow down, not think of anything other than how perfect your little one is, and how much you love your family. That is what you will remember when you look back at your photos. That is also why I love doing what I do so much!

Philadelphia Newborn Family Photography Session

Let me start by saying….it’s been SO long since my last journal post and I feel like I’ve really missed diving in deep to the images of these beautiful families that I’ve captured! I have a bunch of sessions that I’ve only shared glimpses of on Instagram but it feels really good to go through these and find some sweet treasures to share more in depth.

I have to be totally honest, this whole COVID-19 virus has me seriously thrown for a loop (I mean-we all are feeling a little crazy right now, right?!?!). Between worrying about the health of my parents and friends/family with compromised immune systems, to wondering what is the best decision for our family and our children as back to school rolls around and coupled with the politicizing of everything, I’m exhausted and frustrated. I think a lot of you feel the same way. Our family sessions and weddings have been put on hold, rescheduled, and canceled during these last 5 months, and while the future feels very uncertain, we are starting to begin shooting again. Capturing beautiful families like this one are going to keep me happy and positive! While we slowly start booking sessions, I’m going to start blogging more too-it really just puts a huge smile on my face to see these sessions again and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Keep an eye out on Insta and here for our fall mini session dates. We’re planning to start with one date in late September-early October and we may add a second date depending on how quickly it fills up and how open the Philly area is by this fall.

This sweet family I captured last spring and it’s just crazy to think this cutie pie is already 1! Newborn sessions are so fun, I really just love doing them!
