Stockton, NJ | Family Photo Session

Documenting families in their home is one of my favorites parts of what I do. There is something magic, comforting, calm, and beautiful to take a peak into a family in their home. This session is a favorite of mine because the candids are pure joy and magic. These little girls were so full of life and smiles and happiness that shone through these photos. This session also has a very cinematic, almost analog feel for me at times. It makes me really want to bring film into my family sessions. Maybe soon I’ll grab my film cameras and try some experimenting for future family sessions.

Urban Family Lifestyle Session in Philly

The sweetest family of three photographed in their South Philly neighborhood. It was a gorgeous late spring day and Maiella had a blast exploring with her parents. We smelled some flowers, explored the murals, and I was able to catch some big smiles and giggles. This little mini session was the perfect amount of time to capture all of the love in this family.

Early Fall Family Photo Session at Valley Forge Park

I hadn’t photographed the Chi family before but the minute I met them at Valley Forge Park I knew it was going to be a fun session. Their three adorable boys were so full of giggles and had so much energy it was so easy to snap a million candids! We were even able to sneak their family pup in for some photos. They were all so sweet and very photogenic - it felt like a whirlwind of a photo session but I got so many great photos! Check out some of my favorites below.

A Year in Review: 2022

What an amazing year it has been! (I might have written this same thing last year-but it’s true!) We feel so fortunate to do what we do and it has been so much fun meeting new families and seeing our regular families again.

This year we traveled all around New Jersey, from the woods to the shore. We spent a lot of time in our neck of the woods in Bucks County, especially at one of our favorite parks, Tyler State Park. We also popped into Philly a few times as well! I’m hoping this year we’ll be able to explore even more beautiful areas and that I’ll be able to capture even more of those first newborn smiles and toddler tickles. Here’s to a wonderful past year and to an even better year to come!

Barnegat Light House Family Lifestyle Photo Session

Fall on the beach is one of my all time favorite times and places to take photos! I think I’ve said it before, but seriously, I’ll never tire of it! This sweet little family of three was so smiley and fun and happy it was such a pleasure to spend time with them. We photographed Hannah and Chris’ wedding a few years back and now they have this cutie little guy! I just love watching our couples grow into families. So happy to share some of my favorites from this session at Barnegat Light State Park. For more beach family sessions check out this one and this one. For Hannah and Chris’ beautiful wedding click here.

Early Fall New Jersey Beach Family Photo Session

This sweet little mini session was just about perfect. The rain was threatening to ruin the whole thing but we decided to go for it anyway. Just as we were meeting to start the session, the clouds cleared and let through a beautiful golden hour sunset. It doesn’t get any better than that! We photographed Jenna and Ben’s wedding and I was so happy when they reached out after their family grew. Their sweet smiley little girl was just too much fun to photograph! I just love this session. For another beach photo session , check out this one in Avalon.

Fall Family Photo Session in Lambertville

The Buck family were our neighbors for years and of course I was thrilled when they reached out for a family session after they had their second baby. I documented their first little one in a in-home lifestyle session a few years prior, you can check it out here. So for this one we decided on a golden hour fall session at the nearby Baldpate Mountain. It’s one of my favorite spots in this area and in the fall during the glowy evening is it perfection! Here are my favorites from this sweet, quick little session.

A Year in Review: 2021

What a fun, wild year it was this past year! Despite all the ups and downs that Covid threw at us; we were able to connect with so many amazing families! There was so much joy and beauty I was able to experience with many amazing people in 2021. Some of these families I’ve been photographing since they were married, and I have been able to watch them grow, meet their little ones and watch their babies grow, which is one of my absolute favorite parts of what I do. Some families I met for the first time this past year and was able to create new friendships that will hopefully last a long time. Sometimes I really just feel so lucky to be able to do what I do!

I haven’t done a year in review for our families before but after looking through and putting together our review for our 2021 weddings (check it out here!) I just got really excited to go back through all the amazing, fun, silly, and memorable families I worked with last year. Here are some snippets of each session and keep an eye out for more journal entires of full sessions coming out this year!

Glowing Sunset Valley Forge Family Photography Session

We caught the sunset at the perfect time at Valley Forge Park and it cast a gorgeous glow over this entire family session. We’ve been photographing the Morris family for a few years now and it had been so fun to watch their family grown. These sisters are adorable and had the biggest smiles for me!

Funny story about this shoot…The morning of the session I get an email saying that Tyler had an accident while playing soccer the night before and spent the night at the hospital getting stitches in his forehead! He had a HUGE gash right in between his eyes. We decided to go for it, continue with the shoot and luckily it was in a spot that was super easy to photoshop. We left a couple shots of him with the gash so they don’t forget ;) but everything turned out great. While we don’t love relying on photoshop for editing, it does come in handy when accidents happen!

Cozy, Newborn Family Lifestyle Photography Session

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this sweet little newborn lifestyle session yet! Whew, it’s been awhile since my last journal post but here we are! I have a ton of awesome sessions to catch up on and here is a fav of mine!

We have been photographing the Pattwell family since their engagement and were beyond thrilled when they told us about their newest little family member. I love doing in home newborn photo sessions. They are cozy, and intimate and truly capture this moment in your lives. There is something so genuine about these sessions!

These are some of my favorites from their photography session and if you love dogs don’t miss their cutie pup who couldn’t resist being right there with us the whole time.

Check out some more newborn sessions here, here and here. You can also scroll through our journal for a ton more!

A Fall Family Photo Session in Princeton, New Jersey

The first time I photographed the McDevitt family there were three…now they are five! It was so fun to reconnect and see this beautiful family grow. With a baby and a couple toddlers it was action packed and so much fun-kids just bring the best kind of wild to a shoot. Each has their own amazing personality and were just a pleasure to capture! The gorgeous fall leaves and warm glowy sun made the whole thing even better.

This was our mini-lifestyle shoot, which is a 30 minute session. This seems to be our most popular package right now because I think it’s hard to know how long your kiddos will last during the session. This works well if you are looking for 30 or so photos to have a quick capture in this moment of your lives.

Sometimes it’s nice to slow down a little and spend a little more time playing and snuggling and exploring which is why I LOVE our 60 minute lifestyle photo sessions. We get a few more locations/looks and things don’t feel so chaotic and rushed and you will get a lot more photos (these are the shoots where I love to recommend putting together a small album-which is what WE do when we have family photos taken of ourselves).

We also offer day-in-the-life sessions which are pretty much non-existent right now because of covid, but when all this virus stuff goes away/becomes manageable I’m going to be offering a little discount on those. We don’t do enough of them and they are truly a magical way to document this perfect time in your lives. We capture a portrait session (all the usual great photos from our smaller sessions) but we also capture some of the day-to-day moments as well. Maybe making dinner and eating together, bath time and story time, or an afternoon playing in the sprinkler, eating popsicles and enjoying a picnic. Whatever is it, we take time and spend more than just a quick moment, we document your true days (because I think these everyday moments are the ones that slip our minds first).

Stay tuned for a little more info on our holiday card minis…..coming soon!! I’m thinking the date will be October 17th…hopefully that works for everyone!!

Early Fall Sayen House and Gardens Family Photo Shoot

It was early-ish October and I had never been to The Sayen House and Gardens before and oh my goodness!! It is SUCH a gorgeous place, what a perfect little haven outside Trenton, NJ in Hamilton Township. The trees were just starting to turn and the warm late afternoon sun was coming up to its peak of warm glowy-ness! It’s by far my favorite time of year and there were a billion perfect spots to capture the Reeder family. We’ve been photographing the Reeders since they got married and they now have a fourth little member of their family (I will post their newborn session soon!). Here is the session we captured of them when their little girl was a newborn. And if you want to check out their gorgeous beach wedding you can see it HERE. They are the just the sweetest and it is so much fun to watch them and their family grow. This is seriously one of the BEST perks of this job-getting to know couples and families and watching them grow and being able to capture the best moments of their lives—honestly, what could be any better?!

I have a ton of awesome sessions to journal so stayed tuned, especially if you love fall as much as I do! I also can’t wait to jump into all my fall sessions coming up this year! Whoo! Be sure to keep an eye on our Insta and FB feeds in the next few months for some sneak peaks!

Bucks County Summer Family Photography Lifestyle Shoot

We photographed this beautiful family last summer and it was our second time capturing them (this time with a fourth little family member!). You can check out their first session here! We have worked with Gina a lot through our wedding photography biz-she is an incredible hair and make-up artist with an amazing team-check out her business: True Beauty Marks. Her family is always so fun to capture and her little cuties, Everett and Stevie are absolute perfection! All of their smiles just light up and they are full of laughs and fun and are just such a happy family. We were able to capture that early evening glow in their backyard and that deep summer green from all their gorgeous trees. Check out some of our favorites from this shoot!

Summertime Family Photography Session at Valley Forge Park

It was hot and humid (soooo humid) haha, but this sweet family didn’t let it bother them at all. Violet and Lily were SO good and we only had a few tears at the very end. We strolled through fields, down paths and through trees. We pick some wildflowers and snuggled on a blanket. There were lots of giggles and not too many tears. It was pretty perfect! We’ve been shooting this family since they were just two, getting married, and it’s been so fun to watch them grow over the years into a family of four. Tons of love for the Hammer family!!

First Birthday Cake Smash and Family Photography

Lochlann's first taste of birthday cake was a definite success! We first had a fun mini lifestyle photo session in his adorable cactus themed room with Mom and Dad. When it was cake time, he was a little bit unsure at first but after Mom gave him a taste he was sold and dug right in. He was all smiles and I had such a fun time capturing this family again!
